About Busted Chain, LLC: Busted Chain, LLC was created on April 12th, 2004 by Tor C. Nichols as a natural extension of his hobby-website of the same name that went live on December 2nd, 2002.
Some reasons behind starting my small business include: Help a few folks obtain reasonably priced web hosting.
- After more than a year, it was [long past] time to revamp the website; bustedchain.com outgrew it's comfy home at Endikos.com which is hosted by a good friend I haven't heard from in a while.
- Earn some money to pay for the bustedchain.com domain and a little extra income.
- Exercise web development skills, learn a little more about web hosting, practice, experience, and all that jazz.
- Currently, Busted Chain, LLC. Makes enough to pay for itself, cell phone, and internet access. This helps a lot while going to school.
What is unique about Busted Chain, LLC:
- I have spent close to 10 years providing technical support and have worked with people from all walks of life and levels of technical experience.
- Unique Computer Building Philosophy: Computers I build are somewhat special in that I will not sacrifice quality. I can make an inexpensive system, however all the parts in it will be better than computers of comparable price. The computers I build perform better than other systems in the same price range.
- What You Get in a Computer From Me: An optimized system with components selected for quality and performance. Cost is a concern, but it is easy enough to find the right technology that meets the needs of power and budget.
- What You Don't Get: Stuff you don't need. The average experienced user has used a computer long enough to not need help 24/7 so why should they pay a premium for support they don't use? People that need help all the time should pay the extra money Dell and Gateway charge. Before you jump on the large-retailer bandwagon you might want to read this about some of the Pros and Cons. People who have a little experience do not usually need to pay hundreds of dollars more for a computer.
- You also Don't Get: Software you do not need. Very few things bug me more than a computer system loaded with tons of software that the user does not want, does not need, and may not have asked for in the first place.
- Lately, I have a lot of experience taking a "graphics heavy" website and streamlining it so that folks using dialup do not get frustrated and click off the site. I have been able to take some really bandwidth intensive sites down in size while maintaining the quality and design/layout of the pages.
- Value Added Philosophy: Every service I provide I throw in "extras" here and there. If for some reason an order is incredibly delayed I'll provide a discount to loyal customers. If a customer has a technical question I can help them with I provide help and answers.
- Spyware, Adware, and Malware: Lately I have been making it my pasttime to remove and block these repugnant forms of malicious unwelcomed software. I am extremely skilled at removing these unwelcome beasts and making it harder for them to get in. Keep your eye here for a new page that will give you some good advice on how you can do you part in elliminating this crap.

About the Name: BustedChain.com Okay, so you might be wondering what is up with the name of this domain. You are not completely alone. The owner wanted a domain name so he could build a website, although he didn't know what to build he figured a good name would be a start. The idea behind the website, then, was that place to experiment, store information, and a place to keep a resume was good enough. After playing around with names and seeing what was available, the idea for "Broken Link dot com" came to mind because it was catchy, but alas, this domain was taken like so many other good names for being catchy. Being an avid punster, it was time to play on words and see how many meanings could be derived from "Broken Link" while keeping a tie to the original. Hence, "Broken" is "Busted", "Links" form a "Chain" when followed compulsively. If you don't follow, don't worry. That makes you "normal".
